The 2010 Caloundra City Bowls Carnival is on again!
This Carnival will be held as part of the Sunshine Coast Winter Carnival Program from Monday 19th July through to Saturday 31st July 2010.
The Carnival began in 2007 as the result of four Clubs in the then Caloundra City Area getting together to combine their resources to provide for the winter bowling visitors who had come over many years. The concept was new, but the combined committee carried it through to a very successful carnival.
Following this success, the combined committee has continued to function with strong support from the four individual clubs and is now organizing its 4th carnival.
The major financial support since the first year has come from the Caloundra RSL who have been consistently strong in their support of sport and in this case BOWLS.
This year they have been joined by two of Caloundra’s accommodation providers Lindomare Apartments and Cheltenham Apartments as major sponsors and Fairseas Apartments and Caloundra City Realty as support sponsors. These sponsors enable these events to happen.
The Carnival has its own website www.caloundracarnival.com.au where information on the carnival is available as well as ENTRY FORMS to download.
The website also lists those who have entered (after the entries have been processed) so that bowlers can check that their entry has been received.
After the closing date, the website also provides the draw so that bowlers can easily see where they are playing.
The four clubs provide a total of eight greens potentially for each event. This provides for great competition and assures visitors they will always get a game.
The three two day events are structured to ensure all teams are competing for a prize on the second day. The Conditions of Play are on the website.
The organising committee believe they are providing a fairly unique style of event and invite all bowlers to consider entering one or more of the 9 events.

ON LINE REGISTRATION
Thanks to generous funding from Queensland Events, have been able to upgrade the website of the Sunshine Coast Men's District Bowls Association, the hosts of the Winter Bowls Carnival. This upgrade allows for on line registration of events of the Winter Bowls Carnival between July 6 and 18.

The Big Event
The Sunshine Coast Winter Bowls Carnival is a long standing event held on the Sunshine Coast for 47 years. It is made up of a number of Carnivals held over a period of eight weeks:
- Buderim Men's Fours (29 & 30 May)
- Mooloolaba Bowls Bonanza (12- 27 June)
- Maroochy Swan Carnival Prelude (13 June - 4 July)
- Sunshine Coast Regional Council Winter Bowls Carnival (6-18 July)
- Caloundra City Bowls Carnival (19 - 31 July)
- Kawana Winter Bowls Carnival (1- 5 August)
